About the project

I started the project back in 2019, when I began roasting coffee myself. My Gene Cafe had no software, and I couldn't repeat good recipes because the temperature readings weren't stable. Writing temperatures, events and notes on a sheet of paper was awkward, and it took up a big part of the whole roast…

So I decided to build something to make my roasting easier. At first it was just a simple proof of concept, but every time I wanted a little more from it, to make roasting more enjoyable.

In summer 2022 I thought: why not share the app with other home roasters? Maybe it would make roasting more enjoyable for them too.

Today Roasters Pal runs on iPhone and Android, with Bluetooth logging, a bean inventory, AI analysis and Roasters Pal Cloud on this website.
